Zoom Video Silently Makes Its Debut On Apple TV 4K: Here’s How You Can Use It – Zoom Video Comms (NASDAQ:ZM)

Zoom Video Communications Inc. has announced that its video conferencing software is now officially available on Apple Inc.’s Apple TV 4K. This move provides users with a new platform to host and join meetings.

The Zoom app on Apple TV utilizes the iPhone’s camera through a stand like the Belkin MagSafe Mount, as the Apple TV box does not have a built-in camera. This leverages the Continuity Camera feature, which is compatible with any iPhone or iPad operating on iOS 17. This feature allows users to use their device’s camera feed on Apple TV.

The “Zoom for Home TV” app, separate from the main Zoom app, is designed specifically to facilitate and join meetings via a TV set. It also includes features such as calendar integration for easy access to upcoming scheduled meetings.

While the Zoom app can be downloaded for free from the Apple TV App Store, users will need a Zoom account to use it.

This expansion to the Apple TV platform comes on the heels of Zoom’s robust Q3 financial results. The company reported a 3.2% year-over-year increase in Q3 revenue, reaching $1.14 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $1.12 billion. Zoom also reported an 18th consecutive earnings per share (EPS) beat, with quarterly earnings of $1.29 per share.

By expanding its user base through Apple TV, Zoom aims to further strengthen its positive performance in the market.

In conclusion, the availability of Zoom on Apple TV provides users with a new platform to host and join meetings. This move comes after Zoom’s strong Q3 financial results, and it may contribute to the company’s continued success in the market.
