Mark Zuckerberg In Alex Volkanovski’s Corner At UFC 298, Share Pre-Fight Hug

Mark Zuckerberg may be worth over $160 billion, but that doesn’t mean he’s above a little side gig on the weekends. The Facebook founder was spotted at UFC 298 on Saturday night, cornering his friend Alex Volkanovski for his title fight.

Zuckerberg and Volkanovski have a close relationship, with the two having trained together multiple times since Zuckerberg got into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a couple of years ago. So, it was no surprise to see Zuckerberg in full coach’s kit, standing with Alex’s team as he made his way to the Octagon for his main event fight against Ilia Topuria.

The two even shared a hug before Volkanovski stepped into the cage, with Zuckerberg then taking an Octagon-side seat to watch as a spectator, undoubtedly rooting for his friend. However, the night did not end as they had hoped, with Volkanovski being stopped by KO in the second round, and Topuria being crowned the featherweight champion.

Despite the loss, Zuckerberg was still front and center earlier in the night when Merab Dvalishvili threw Henry Cejudo down in front of him, sparking a mid-round conversation between the two that amused Mark.

This isn’t the first time Zuckerberg has been close to the action, with negotiations for a battle with rival Elon Musk at one point looking like it would take place at The Colosseum. Perhaps Saturday night’s experience reignited Zuckerberg’s competitive spirit. Could we see a showdown between Zuckerberg and Musk in the future? Only time will tell.

Regardless, it’s clear that even with his massive wealth and success, Mark Zuckerberg isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and get involved in the action, whether it’s in the tech world or the octagon.
