Tesla Hosts Cybertruck Delivery Event: What You Need to Know

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) hosted its highly anticipated Cybertruck delivery event at its Giga Factory in Texas on Thursday. The event marked the celebration of the first deliveries of the electric pickup truck.

During the event, Tesla CEO Elon Musk addressed special guests and made a grand entrance by driving a Cybertruck into the room and standing on the bed of the vehicle while speaking. Musk described the Cybertruck as a rare product that only comes along every five to 10 years and highlighted its significance as a special moment.

Musk emphasized how experts initially deemed the Cybertruck impossible to make, but he believes it is Tesla’s best product. He stated that with the Cybertruck, the future will finally look like the future.

Several features of the Cybertruck were showcased via video presentations. Musk highlighted the vehicle’s bulletproof nature and low center of gravity, which prevents it from rolling over. He also mentioned that the truck is smooth, quiet, and resistant to cracks caused by rocks hitting the windows.

One notable moment during the event was when Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen recreated a viral incident from four years ago. In the previous incident, a demo Cybertruck unit had its window smashed. This time, a baseball thrown at the Cybertruck did not break the window, showcasing its durability.

Videos shown during the event demonstrated the Cybertruck’s massive towing capabilities, surpassing trucks from Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) and Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ: RIVN). Additionally, a video featuring the Cybertruck racing against a Porsche 911 on a drag strip revealed that the pickup truck was faster in pulling the Porsche 911.

After Musk’s presentation, the first deliveries of the Cybertruck took place, marking a significant milestone for Tesla.

The Cybertruck is one of the most highly anticipated vehicle launches in recent years, with over one million reservations confirmed by Tesla. Third-party estimates suggest that the company may have over two million reservations. Tesla aims to achieve an annual production of 250,000 Cybertruck units by 2025.

Tesla has already released pricing details for the Cybertruck, which can be found on the company’s website. The three models available are the rear-wheel drive with a 250-mile estimated range and a $60,990 price tag, the all-wheel drive with a 340-mile estimated range and a $79,990 price tag, and the Cyberbeast with a 320-mile estimated range and a $99,990 price tag. These prices are before potential tax credits and savings, and a $250 refundable deposit is required to reserve the Cybertruck.

Wedbush analyst Dan Ives predicts that the pricing for the Cybertruck will range from $50,000 to $80,000.

With the Cybertruck’s delivery event, Tesla has taken a significant step towards fulfilling the high demand for its electric pickup truck. The event showcased the vehicle’s unique features and capabilities, solidifying its position as a game-changer in the automotive industry.
