Breonna Taylor’s Mom Applauds Niecy Nash-Betts for Honoring Breonna at Emmys


Niecy Nash-Betts recently won her first Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in an anthology series. During her acceptance speech, Nash-Betts used her platform to bring attention to the issue of police brutality and the unjust treatment of Black and Brown women. She specifically mentioned Breonna Taylor, whose tragic death sparked widespread protests against racial injustice and policing.

Breonna Taylor’s mother, Tamika Palmer, expressed her gratitude towards Nash-Betts for acknowledging her daughter and other victims of police brutality. Palmer described it as “amazing” that Nash-Betts used her big moment to shed light on this important issue. She emphasized the lack of accountability for these injustices and stressed the importance of continuing to say their names and remind people of the profound impact of their loss.

In addition to her Emmy win, Nash-Betts is known for her work in the Netflix series “Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” Palmer expressed her admiration for Nash-Betts’ work and love for her, stating that her Emmy win was well-deserved.
