Tim Howard Joins Houston Dynamo FC Ownership Group
Longtime U.S. Men’s National Team goaltender Tim Howard has added another title to his resume – owner. Howard has joined the ownership group of the Houston Dynamo FC, a Major League Soccer team based in Houston, Texas.
The announcement was made in a news release on Tuesday, with Dynamo majority owner Ted Segal expressing excitement about Howard’s addition to the ownership group. Segal highlighted Howard’s wealth of experience in soccer, both as a player and in various other roles within the sport.
“We are proud to welcome Tim Howard to our ownership group at the Houston Dash and Houston Dynamo,” Segal said. “His commitment to positively impacting communities aligns with the values of our organization as we continue to build a competitive and successful organization.”
Howard, 45, was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame earlier this year. During his playing career, he represented the USMNT from 2002-2017, earning 121 caps and competing in two FIFA World Cups (2010, 2014). He also won the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2007 and 2017.
In addition to his success on the international stage, Howard also had a successful club career. He played in MLS with the Colorado Rapids (2016-2019) and the MetroStars (1998-2003), winning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year honors in 2001. Howard also spent over a decade in the English Premier League with Manchester United and Everton.
“As someone who has dedicated my life to the sport of soccer, I am thrilled to join the Houston Dash and Dynamo ownership group,” Howard said. “This opportunity allows me to further contribute to the growth of the game in the United States and connect with the passionate soccer fans who call Houston home.”
Howard is not the only high-profile name in the Houston Dynamo FC ownership group. NBA star James Harden is also part of the ownership group, adding to the star power behind the club.
With Howard’s addition, the Houston Dynamo FC ownership group continues to grow and strengthen, positioning the club for success both on and off the field. Howard’s experience and passion for the sport will undoubtedly be valuable assets as the club looks to build a competitive and successful organization.
