USA smokes Serbia behind Steph Curry, dominant defense

Team USA continued their dominance in the pre-Olympic tour with a resounding 105-79 victory over Serbia in Abu Dhabi. The win improved their record to 3-0 as they prepare for the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo. The game was highlighted by stellar performances from Bam Adebayo and Steph Curry, who led the charge for the American squad.

Adebayo was a force on both ends of the court, scoring 17 points and grabbing seven rebounds. His inside presence, along with his ability to knock down shots from the perimeter, caused problems for the Serbian defense throughout the game. Curry, on the other hand, lit it up from beyond the arc, connecting on six 3-pointers and finishing with 24 points.

The defensive effort from Team USA was also on full display, as they held Serbian star Nikola Jokic to just eight points on 3-of-10 shooting. Anthony Davis was a defensive stalwart, recording six blocks and providing rim protection for the American team.

The highlight of the game came in the fourth quarter when Curry drained his fifth 3-pointer of the game to extend the lead to 90-63. LeBron James followed it up with a thunderous dunk off a lob from Adebayo, further demoralizing the Serbian squad.

Team USA’s depth and shooting were key factors in the victory, as they knocked down 16 of 36 shots from beyond the arc. The bench also played a significant role, outscoring the starters 30-29 in the first half.

With two more games remaining before the start of the Olympics, Team USA looks poised to make a strong run for the gold medal. Their next challenge will be against South Sudan in London, as they continue to fine-tune their game and build chemistry before the start of the Olympic competition.

Overall, Team USA’s performance against Serbia showcased their talent, depth, and defensive prowess, giving fans plenty to be excited about as they look ahead to the upcoming Olympic Games in Tokyo.
