Former UFC champion Jamahal Hill has been offered a plea deal in his domestic violence case, according to TMZ Sports. Prosecutors presented the deal to Hill earlier this month, which would require him to plead guilty to one charge of domestic violence in exchange for the dismissal of the aggravated domestic violence charge he initially faced.
Hill is expected to make a decision on the offer by a court hearing scheduled for March. The plea deal comes after Hill was arrested on November 27 following an altercation with his brother, James Hill Jr., at their home in Kent, Michigan. James told police that Jamahal “sucker punched” him with a closed fist and hit him a second time, resulting in a swollen face and a broken front tooth.
Since his arrest, Jamahal Hill has maintained his innocence and expressed his eagerness for the truth to be revealed in court. In a video released shortly after the incident, Hill stated, “I just can’t wait for the truth to be told in court, and I will wait for that day and I look forward to that day.”
It remains to be seen whether Hill will accept the plea deal or proceed with a trial. His attorney has not yet provided a comment on the matter. The outcome of the case will have significant implications for Hill’s future in the UFC and his reputation as a professional athlete.
