Ty Blach rejoins Rockies’ rotation to face Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are facing a tough stretch after being swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers and losing their fourth straight game to the Colorado Rockies. The Red Sox are now looking to end their losing streak in the middle game of their three-game series against the Rockies.

The Rockies, on the other hand, are dealing with injuries to key players like pitcher German Marquez and catcher Elias Diaz. Marquez, who recently returned from Tommy John surgery, was placed on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow inflammation. Left-hander Ty Blach will be taking Marquez’s spot in the rotation on Tuesday.

Blach, who has a 3-5 record and a 5.46 ERA, will be looking to bounce back after four consecutive relief outings. He has faced the Red Sox once before in his career, giving up five runs in 5 1/3 innings during a no-decision game in 2019.

The Red Sox are also missing a key player in closer Kenley Jansen, who did not make the trip to Denver due to a heart condition. Jansen’s absence was felt in Monday’s game when the Red Sox couldn’t close out the lead in the 10th and 12th innings.

Cooper Criswell will be starting for the Red Sox on Tuesday, hoping to turn things around for the team. Criswell, with a 3-4 record and a 4.50 ERA, will be facing the Rockies for the first time in his career.

Both teams will be looking to get back on track and secure a much-needed win in Tuesday’s game. With key players out due to injuries and health issues, the depth of both teams will be tested as they battle it out on the field.
