Twins reinstate RHP Chris Paddack from IL to start Monday

The Minnesota Twins made a significant roster move on Monday, reinstating pitcher Chris Paddack from the 15-day injured list. The right-hander is set to start for the team that evening against the Chicago White Sox, marking his return to the mound after a brief stint on the IL.

Paddack, 28, had been sidelined with right arm fatigue since June 25. In his 15 starts this season, he has posted a 5-3 record with a 5.29 ERA. Despite his struggles this year, the Twins are hopeful that Paddack can regain his form and provide a boost to their pitching staff down the stretch.

In a corresponding move, the Twins optioned right-handed pitcher Josh Winder to Triple-A St. Paul. Winder had made just one appearance for the team, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits in a July 5 loss to the Houston Astros.

Paddack brings a wealth of experience to the Twins, with a career record of 27-24 and a 4.42 ERA in 83 appearances, including 80 starts. He previously pitched for the San Diego Padres from 2019 to 2021 before being acquired by Minnesota.

The Twins will be counting on Paddack to provide stability and quality innings as they look to make a push for the postseason. With the team currently in the thick of the playoff race, his return could not have come at a better time.

It remains to be seen how Paddack will perform in his first start back from injury, but the Twins are optimistic about his ability to make an impact. Fans will be eagerly watching to see how he fares against the White Sox and beyond, as the team looks to secure a spot in the playoffs.

Overall, the reinstatement of Chris Paddack is a positive development for the Minnesota Twins, and it will be interesting to see how he helps shape the team’s fortunes in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned for more updates on his performance and the Twins’ playoff push as the season progresses.
