Twins look to hand White Sox sixth consecutive series loss by sweep

The Minnesota Twins are on a hot streak, while the Chicago White Sox are struggling to find their footing in the MLB season. The two teams will face off in the series finale on Sunday afternoon in Minneapolis, with the Twins looking to complete a three-game sweep.

One of the standout players for the Twins in this series has been catcher Ryan Jeffers. Jeffers, who leads the team with 16 home runs, homered in the Twins’ 6-2 win over the White Sox on Saturday. Jeffers has been feeling more like himself at the plate in recent weeks, and his performance has been a key factor in the Twins’ success.

On the other hand, the White Sox are in the midst of a historic losing streak. They have lost 19 games in a row, setting a franchise record and creeping closer to the modern-era record of 23 consecutive losses set by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1961. The White Sox are also on track to set the modern-era record for most losses in a season, currently held by the 1962 New York Mets with 120 losses in 161 games.

White Sox ace Garrett Crochet expressed frustration with the team’s losing streak, emphasizing that they need to break out of it soon. Despite being competitive in many of their games, the White Sox have struggled to come out on top.

In the series finale, the Twins will send right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson to the mound, while the White Sox will counter with right-hander Chris Flexen. Both pitchers will be looking to lead their teams to victory and make an impact on the game.

The Twins will be without shortstop Carlos Correa, who is still dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Correa does not expect to return to the lineup anytime soon, leaving a gap in the Twins’ defense.

As the two teams prepare to face off in the series finale, the Twins will look to continue their winning streak, while the White Sox will aim to break their losing streak and turn their season around. It promises to be an exciting matchup between two teams heading in opposite directions in the MLB standings.
