Trump Widens Lead For GOP Nomination Amidst Haley’s Dwindling Favorability

In the race for the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election, former President Donald Trump continues to dominate his only remaining primary opponent, Nikki Haley. According to the latest Morning Consult poll, Trump holds a commanding lead over Haley, with 81% of GOP voters supporting him compared to Haley’s 18%.

The race initially began with more than 10 candidates, but key contenders Vivek Ramaswamy and Ron DeSantis dropped out after the first state held its vote. Since then, Trump has won and dominated the early-voting states of New Hampshire, Iowa, and Nevada, solidifying his lead in the polls.

Trump’s lead over Haley has consistently been in the 60-point range since Ramaswamy and DeSantis exited the race. The latest poll also revealed that Haley’s favorability ratings have hit new lows, with more voters viewing her negatively than positively.

Despite the significant deficit in the polls, Haley has made it clear that she intends to stay in the race, even if she loses the upcoming South Carolina primary. Trump currently holds a substantial lead over Haley in South Carolina, according to recent polls.

As the race for the Republican nomination continues, all eyes will be on the South Carolina primary on February 24, where Trump and Haley will face off in a crucial showdown. Despite the odds stacked against her, Haley remains determined to stay in the race and has announced new campaign stops, including in the swing state of Michigan.

With Trump’s continued dominance in the polls and Haley’s unwavering determination, the race for the Republican nomination in the 2024 election promises to be a closely watched and highly contested battle.
