Russian President Tells Tucker Carlson Moscow Will Attack This NATO Member ‘Only In One Case’

Putin: Russia Has No Intention of Expanding War in Ukraine to Poland and Latvia

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that Moscow has no plans to expand its war in Ukraine to other countries, including Poland and Latvia. In an interview with Tucker Carlson, Putin made it clear that Russia would only consider sending troops to Poland, a NATO member, if Poland were to attack Russia. Putin emphasized that Russia has no interest in Poland, Latvia, or any other country, and it is out of the question for them to escalate the conflict.

The interview, which aired on Thursday, marked the first time Putin had spoken with an American journalist since the invasion of Ukraine almost two years ago. The Kremlin stated that Putin agreed to the interview due to Carlson’s different approach to the conflict compared to many Western news outlets.

Carlson, known for his close ties to former U.S. President Donald Trump, has been critical of the Biden administration’s support for the Ukrainian government. Trump, the expected Republican Party candidate in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, has called for de-escalation of the war in Ukraine.

During the interview, Putin also praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk, referring to him as “a smart guy,” and expressing his belief that there is no stopping Musk despite the controversies surrounding him.

Putin’s comments come at a time when concerns about the conflict in Ukraine spilling over into neighboring countries have been on the rise. Last year, Dmitry Medvedev, the former president of Russia, warned that Russia could extend its military operations beyond Ukraine to push the borders of threats to its country, even if it meant encroaching on Poland’s borders. Another Russian lawmaker had also warned that Poland’s involvement in the Ukrainian conflict would mean the start of World War III, according to Russian perspective.

It is worth noting that Carlson has previously attempted to interview Putin, but his efforts were thwarted by the U.S. government. The interview has sparked widespread debate and criticism, with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calling Carlson a “useful idiot” for providing a platform for Putin’s propaganda.

In conclusion, Putin’s statement clarifying Russia’s intentions regarding the war in Ukraine provides some reassurance to neighboring countries like Poland and Latvia. However, the situation remains volatile, and ongoing diplomatic efforts are necessary to resolve the conflict peacefully.
