Royals look for more home cookin’ vs. Guardians

The Kansas City Royals are back home and ready to bounce back after a challenging road trip that saw them fall in the standings. With a recent series win against the Miami Marlins and a strong start against the Cleveland Guardians, the Royals are looking to regain their momentum and climb back up in the American League Central.

The Royals struggled on their recent road trip, suffering three shutouts and finishing with 22 straight scoreless innings. However, they quickly turned things around upon returning home, with key players like Vinnie Pasquantino, Salvador Perez, and Hunter Renfroe each contributing with home runs in their first game back at Kauffman Stadium.

The team’s success at home can be attributed to their comfort and familiarity with their surroundings. Bobby Witt Jr. has been particularly impressive, boasting a 22-game hitting streak and a .370 home batting average, the best in baseball.

As the Royals prepare to face off against the Cleveland Guardians, right-hander Alec Marsh will take the mound. Marsh has had mixed results against Cleveland in the past, and will be looking to bounce back from a rough stretch of starts. On the other side, Guardians’ right-hander Triston McKenzie will be looking to secure a win after a series of challenging outings.

The Guardians will be without outfielder Will Brennan, who was placed on the injured list with an oblique strain. In his place, José Tena has been called up from Triple-A Columbus, where he has been putting up impressive numbers.

As both teams gear up for the upcoming matchup, it’s clear that there is no shortage of talent and determination on the field. With both teams looking to make a push in the standings, fans can expect an exciting and competitive game between these two American League rivals.
