Michael Jackson Estate Says Katherine’s Received Over $55 Million Since His Death

Since the passing of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, in 2009, his mother, Katherine Jackson, has been at the center of various legal battles and disputes with Michael’s estate. The latest development in this ongoing saga is the revelation that Katherine has amassed a fortune since her son’s death, to the tune of tens of millions of dollars.

According to legal documents filed by MJ’s estate, Katherine has received over $55 million in cash and other benefits over the past 15 years. A significant portion of this money comes in the form of a monthly allowance from MJ’s estate, totaling more than $160,000 per month. The estate claims that this allowance alone amounts to $33 million of the total $55 million.

Additionally, the estate has reportedly spent more than $15 million to buy and improve Katherine’s luxury home, as well as covering her transportation and other perks such as a private gardener, chef, and security.

The estate’s argument in laying out this financial information is to support their claim that Katherine can afford to pay for her own attorney’s fees in the ongoing legal battle over a business deal that the estate struck, which Katherine is currently appealing. The deal in question is believed to be related to the sale of half of MJ’s music catalog to Sony for a significant sum.

Katherine’s grandson, Blanket, who was initially supporting her in the appeal, has since filed legal documents stating that he believes Katherine should cover her own attorney’s fees and that the estate should not have to foot the bill. Blanket has now decided to step back from the fight and leave Katherine to proceed with the appeal on her own.

It remains to be seen how this latest development will impact the ongoing legal disputes between Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson’s estate. One thing is for certain: the financial stakes are high, and both sides are digging in their heels as they continue to battle it out in court.
