Marshawn Lynch Strikes Deal With Prosecutors In DUI Case

Former NFL star Marshawn Lynch has reached a deal with prosecutors in his DUI case, avoiding a trial that was set to begin in Las Vegas. The court documents obtained by TMZ Sports reveal that Lynch’s misdemeanor DUI charge will be reduced to reckless driving if he completes several conditions.

As part of the agreement, Lynch must complete 200 hours of community service, attend DUI school, pay a $1,140 fine, and stay out of trouble for the next 12 months. In exchange, prosecutors have agreed to drop the other charges Lynch was facing.

Lynch’s attorneys, Richard Schonfeld and David Chesnoff, issued a statement saying that Lynch has not been convicted of any offense and that he has agreed to complete the requirements, resulting in the case being closed as a reckless driving traffic offense.

The incident occurred in August 2022 when Lynch was accused of driving a 2020 Shelby GT500 while under the influence. Police claimed Lynch was driving erratically before parking and falling asleep in his car. When officers confronted him, he appeared uncooperative, leading to his arrest.

Despite the charges, Lynch’s attorneys argued that the vehicle was safely parked and not in operation at the time, suggesting that the DUI charge should not apply.

Marshawn Lynch, who last played in the NFL in 2019, has since transitioned to various TV roles, including contributing to this year’s coverage of “Thursday Night Football.” He is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing in May to address the agreement reached with prosecutors in his DUI case.
