Marlins go for series win against White Sox

The Chicago White Sox and the Miami Marlins, two of the worst teams in Major League Baseball, are gearing up for a decisive third game in their series. The teams have split the first two games, setting the stage for an intriguing matchup on Sunday afternoon.

The White Sox currently hold the worst record in the league at 26-65, with an equally dismal road record of 10-36. On the other hand, the Marlins are not far behind with a record of 31-58 and the worst home record in the National League at 17-31.

The Marlins are expected to start right-hander Edward Cabrera, who has a 1-2 record and a 7.17 ERA. Cabrera, known for his impressive fastball and changeup, will be looking to bounce back from a shaky outing against the Dodgers a month ago.

On the other side, the White Sox will send right-hander Jonathan Cannon to the mound. Cannon, a rookie, has shown flashes of potential but has struggled with consistency throughout the season.

In the previous games of the series, pitching has been the highlight, with both teams putting up solid performances on the mound. However, the Marlins managed to clinch a win in the second game thanks to a two-run homer by Dane Myers in the seventh inning.

Myers, a backup outfielder, has been making a name for himself with his recent standout performances. Despite starting his career as a minor leaguer, Myers has shown significant improvement this season, earning the trust of Marlins manager Skip Schumaker.

As the teams prepare for the final game of the series, all eyes will be on the pitching duel between Cabrera and Cannon. With the series tied at 1-1, both teams will be looking to secure a victory and gain some momentum moving forward in what has been a challenging season for both franchises.
