Kevin Von Erich Says Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White Couldn’t Be Real Wrestlers

Wrestling legend Kevin Von Erich recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming movie “The Iron Claw,” which depicts the life of him and his famous wrestling family. While he praised actors Zac Efron, Jeremy Allen White, and Harris Dickinson for their portrayal of him and his brothers, he believes they wouldn’t make it in a real wrestling ring due to their size.

Kevin Von Erich clarified that he wasn’t hating on the actors but simply stating the reality of professional wrestling. Despite his comments, he expressed his love for the movie and appreciated how it portrayed his family’s story.

According to Kevin, “The Iron Claw” did a commendable job condensing numerous stories into a two-hour film and staying mostly historically accurate, at least by Hollywood standards. However, he mentioned that the movie took some liberties with his relationship with his father, Fritz Von Erich. In reality, his father never wanted him to pursue a career in wrestling, unlike what is depicted in the movie.

Kevin also understands why his brother Chris Von Erich was left out of the film. He believes that his faith in Christianity, which played a crucial role in his success, was also omitted from the movie. Nonetheless, he acknowledged that it’s part of the Hollywood game and knows that certain aspects may be altered for storytelling purposes.

In conclusion, Kevin Von Erich seems quite pleased with the final outcome of “The Iron Claw.” While he appreciates the actors’ performances, he suggests not to be fooled by the camera, as they don’t possess the physical stature typically seen in professional wrestlers.
