Home runs propel surging Astros past Rangers

The Houston Astros continued their dominance at home with a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Friday night. The Astros extended their home winning streak to 10 games, showcasing their power at Minute Maid Park.

Jake Meyers and Alex Bregman both contributed with solo home runs, while Jose Altuve added a three-run shot to help secure the win for the Astros. The team’s offensive firepower was on full display as they improved to 25-11 since June 1.

The Astros got on the board early with Mauricio Dubon scoring on a heads-up baserunning play in the third inning. Meyers and Bregman followed with home runs in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, to give the Astros a comfortable lead.

Rangers’ shortstop Corey Seager redeemed himself in the sixth inning with a two-run home run, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Astros’ strong performance. Astros’ pitcher Hunter Brown held off the Rangers, allowing only two runs over six innings to secure the win.

Altuve continued his dominance against Rangers’ pitcher Jose Urena with a three-run homer in the sixth inning, further extending the Astros’ lead. Despite a late rally from the Rangers, the Astros’ bullpen held strong with Ryan Pressly and Josh Hader closing out the game to secure the win.

The Astros’ impressive performance at home is a testament to their consistency and strength as a team. With their second-longest home winning streak at Minute Maid Park, the Astros are proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the MLB.

Overall, the Astros’ victory over the Rangers was a showcase of their power hitting and solid pitching, highlighting why they are one of the top teams in the league. As they continue to dominate at home, the Astros are setting themselves up for success as they push towards the postseason.
