The callousness of their actions is deeply disturbing, with Mays even admitting that he hesitated to shoot because he knew there were children present. This lack of remorse and disregard for human life is appalling.

Describing their actions as “stupid” and “just being stupid” trivializes the gravity of the situation. The fact that Mays’ family set up a GoFundMe account to support him in this “tragic time” is a disturbing reflection of the misguided priorities and lack of accountability in some quarters.
