David Kaufman Says Billie Eilish, Noah Schnapp Should Star in ‘Danny Phantom’ Movie

David Kaufman, the voice actor behind the beloved character Danny Phantom, has not shied away from the ongoing conversation about who should play the iconic role in a potential live-action movie adaptation. In a recent interview with TMZ, Kaufman revealed that he has some clear casting ideas for the role.

Kaufman expressed his support for Tom Holland taking on the mantle of Danny Phantom, but acknowledged that Holland may be done with superhero roles for the time being, considering his commitment to the Spider-Man franchise. However, Kaufman believes that Holland’s upcoming stint in the West End production of “Romeo & Juliet” could be a great opportunity for him to showcase his versatility as an actor.

The conversation about the live-action adaptation of “Danny Phantom” was reignited recently when Butch Hartman, the show’s creator, stated at MegaCon in Orlando that he would only want Tom Holland to play Danny Phantom in a hypothetical movie. While there have been no official announcements or indications of such a project being in the works, Kaufman’s input on the casting is certainly interesting.

For those unfamiliar with the animated series, “Danny Phantom” follows the story of a teenager named Danny Fenton, who gains ghost-like abilities after an accident involving a portal to another world. The show was a hit during its run, and fans have been eagerly speculating about the possibility of a live-action adaptation for years.

In addition to endorsing Tom Holland, Kaufman also suggested a couple of his own casting choices. He proposed that “Stranger Things” actor Noah Schnapp would be a great fit for the role of Danny, emphasizing Schnapp’s comedic timing as an essential aspect of the character. Kaufman also suggested that Billie Eilish, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, would be perfect for the role of Sam, Danny’s friend-turned-love-interest.

While Schnapp has already showcased his talent in “Stranger Things,” Eilish has limited acting experience. However, Kaufman pointed out that lack of experience has never stopped Hollywood before, and Eilish’s success in the music industry could potentially inspire her to explore acting as well.

It remains to be seen whether Nickelodeon will pursue a live-action adaptation of “Danny Phantom” or take Kaufman’s casting suggestions into consideration. Nevertheless, the conversation surrounding the potential project continues to generate excitement among fans of the beloved animated series.

As fans eagerly wait for more news, one thing is clear – the idea of a live-action “Danny Phantom” movie is hauntingly intriguing, and it would undoubtedly be a treat for longtime fans of the show.
