Cynthia Bailey, a mainstay on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” recently spoke out about her friend and co-star Kandi Burruss leaving the show. While Bailey believes Burruss will be just fine without the show, she thinks that “Housewives” itself could use some improvement.
In an interview outside a popular West Hollywood hotspot, Bailey expressed her surprise at Burruss’ departure but revealed that she had seen it coming as she often talks to her friend when the cameras aren’t rolling. Bailey is confident that Burruss will excel in whatever she pursues next, describing her as a “badass bitch” who can handle anything thrown her way.
Bailey also mentioned that Burruss has a safety net in her relationship with Bravo, the network that airs “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” This means that if Burruss ever decides to return to the show, the option will always be available to her. Bailey believes that the OGs (original cast members) of the show have the privilege to “come and go” as they please.
However, Bailey also believes that the show could benefit from the addition of some fresh faces to improve its ratings. She does not suggest a complete overhaul of the cast but thinks that a few new additions could bring a new dynamic to the show. Former “Housewife” NeNe Leakes has also expressed similar sentiments.
Bailey took the opportunity to praise Phaedra Parks, another former cast member, for her role on the hit reality competition and murder mystery show, “The Traitors.” She believes that Parks should definitely consider returning to “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” now that Burruss is leaving. Despite the past drama between Burruss and Parks, Bailey sees Parks as “great TV” and would welcome her back.
The conversation also touched on the potential return of Kim Zolciak-Biermann, another former cast member. While Bailey acknowledges that Zolciak-Biermann is entertaining to watch, she expressed concern over the downfall of her marriage to Kroy. Bailey finds it difficult to witness the struggles in Zolciak-Biermann’s personal life.
It remains to be seen which, if any, OG cast members will be tapped for a homecoming on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Fans will have to stay tuned to see how the show evolves and if any changes are made to the cast.
