CM Punk is already back on the shelf

CM Punk to Miss Wrestlemania 40 Due to Injury

CM Punk, the former WWE superstar, will unfortunately be missing Wrestlemania 40 after tearing his triceps during the men’s Royal Rumble match. This injury comes as a major setback for Punk, who was likely headed towards a highly anticipated match against Seth Rollins on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

The 45-year-old wrestler is expected to undergo surgery and could be out of action for 4-6 months. This news is a disappointment for both Punk and his fans, as Wrestlemania is one of the biggest events in professional wrestling and a main event match is a career highlight for any wrestler.

The injury occurred when Drew McIntyre hit Punk with a Future Shock DDT during the Royal Rumble match. This was Punk’s first televised match since returning to WWE, making the injury even more disheartening.

Punk’s return to WWE at November’s Survivor Series was a highly anticipated moment for fans. His appearance in the Royal Rumble match coincided with the 10-year anniversary of his departure from the company. Punk is a two-time WWE champion and three-time World Heavyweight champion, with a decorated career that includes holding the ECW, Intercontinental, and tag team titles.

One of Punk’s most memorable moments in WWE was his infamous “pipe bomb” promo in 2011, where he delivered a scathing critique of the company and its management. This promo solidified Punk as a fan favorite and propelled him to new heights in his career.

After retiring from professional wrestling in 2014, Punk spent several years fighting in the UFC before returning to wrestling with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) from 2021-2023. However, his time in AEW was marred by injuries and controversies, including a backstage altercation with Jack Perry during the All In event in London. Punk was eventually fired from AEW with cause.

Despite the setback, Punk remains optimistic and determined to overcome this adversity. He expressed his disappointment in missing Wrestlemania but stated that he has overcome challenges in the past and will continue to do so.

While CM Punk’s Wrestlemania main event dream may be delayed, his impact on the wrestling industry and his dedicated fanbase cannot be denied. Wrestling fans will eagerly await his return to the ring and hope to see him achieve his goals in the future.
