ChiefsAholic pleads guilty to bank robbery, money laundering

The case of Xavier Babudar, also known as the wolf-themed Kansas City Chiefs superfan “ChiefsAholic,” has taken a dramatic turn as he pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to bank robbery, money laundering, and transporting stolen property across state lines. Babudar, who had been on the run for several months, turned himself in to authorities in July after being indicted on 19 charges by a federal grand jury in August.

According to reports, Babudar was connected to a string of 11 robberies or attempted robberies of financial institutions in seven states. He took a plea deal, admitting to the crimes, including two robberies that occurred after he cut off an ankle monitor in March 2023. It was reported that he wore a wolf costume while committing the crimes, adding a bizarre twist to the already shocking case.

U.S. Attorney Tessa Moore stated that Babudar’s crime spree traumatized bank employees and victimized financial institutions across the Midwest and beyond. With his guilty plea, he will be held accountable for his actions and will have to pay over $500,000 in restitution and forfeit property, including an autographed painting of Patrick Mahomes.

After being released on bond for a robbery in December 2022, Babudar was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring device. However, he failed to show up for a pretrial hearing in March 2023, and his device was eventually found in a wooded area near an Academy Sports + Outdoors store location in southern Tulsa.

This case has shocked many, especially Chiefs fans who knew Babudar as a dedicated and passionate supporter of the team. The revelations about his criminal activities have left many in disbelief and raised questions about his motives and actions. As the legal process unfolds, more details about Babudar’s crimes and the impact on his victims are likely to emerge.
