Cheryl Hines Defends Larry David Beating Up Elmo

In a recent episode of “Literally with Rob Lowe,” actress Cheryl Hines came to the defense of her former co-star Larry David after he allegedly beat up Elmo on set. Hines, who had worked alongside David in the hit show “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” argued that the producers should have known better than to put the two of them on the same set.

Hines expressed her support for David, stating that he simply doesn’t care about a puppet or even human beings in general. While some might find this statement a bit harsh, Hines pointed out that David has cultivated a sourpuss persona over the years, often making it clear that he doesn’t care about people’s feelings.

According to Hines, it was inevitable that a puppet preaching mental health lessons would set David off. She made it clear that Elmo did nothing wrong and didn’t ask for the altercation to happen. Instead, Hines blamed the showrunners for not anticipating the potential clash between David and Elmo.

While Hines took the incident in good fun, others in the television industry did not react as well. Actor Wil Wheaton, known for his role in “Star Trek,” publicly criticized David after a video of the incident went viral. Wheaton claimed that the attack triggered traumatic memories of his own abuse at the hands of his father.

David has yet to respond to Wheaton’s condemnation, but based on Hines’ statements and his on-camera “apologies,” it seems unlikely that Wheaton will receive a genuine apology anytime soon.

In conclusion, Cheryl Hines has shown unwavering support for Larry David, even in the face of his altercation with Elmo. While some may view the incident as a cause for concern, Hines believes that the blame lies with the show’s producers for not foreseeing the potential clash. Despite differing opinions within the television industry, Hines remains steadfast in her defense of her television ex-husband.
