The images show a patched-up roof, with a section cut out by firefighters to access the blaze and extinguish the flames. The incident occurred on Wednesday night, prompting a massive response from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), who sent multiple fire engines and at least 20 responders to the scene.
According to law enforcement sources, the call reporting the fire came in around 8:25 PM. The reporting party claimed to have smelled smoke emanating from inside the house. Concerned about the potential severity of the situation, LAFD dispatched up to 10 different fire units, including helicopters, to Calvin Harris’ Beverly Hills mansion.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported seeing a mix of fire trucks and ambulances, with smoke visibly rising from the roof of the property. Fortunately, it turned out that the fire was not as severe as initially feared. Firefighters determined that the blaze originated on the third floor of the house, near the theater room. To reach the affected area, they had to cut through the second-story roof to access a wall inside.
Sources familiar with the incident revealed that the fire was likely caused by an electrical mishap. Flames were discovered near an HVAC system in a void space within the house. It took approximately 52 minutes for firefighters to fully extinguish the fire. Although there is an estimated $100,000 worth of damage, no injuries were reported.
Calvin Harris himself was not present at the time of the incident. The DJ has been leasing the property for several years and does not currently reside there. It has been a challenging week for Harris, who recently made headlines for an alleged run-in with his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, at the Grammys.
