The Oakland Athletics have received a much-needed boost as they reinstated their All-Star closer Mason Miller from the 15-day injured list. The 25-year-old right-hander had been sidelined since July 22 due to a fractured left pinky finger, but he is now ready to make his return to the mound.
Miller has been a key contributor out of the Oakland bullpen this season, posting a 1-1 record with 15 saves and an impressive 2.21 ERA in 34 appearances. His presence will certainly strengthen the team’s pitching staff as they push for a playoff spot in the competitive American League.
In addition to Miller’s return, the A’s made some other roster moves. They recalled infielder Armando Alvarez from Triple-A Las Vegas, placed outfielder/first baseman Seth Brown on the paternity list, and designated right-hander Gerardo Reyes for assignment.
With Miller back in action and the team making strategic roster adjustments, the Athletics are looking to build momentum as they head into the final stretch of the season. Fans can expect to see some exciting games ahead as the A’s chase their postseason aspirations.
