Angels OF Mike Trout (knee) targeting return by late July

Los Angeles Angels star center fielder Mike Trout hopeful to return from knee surgery by late July

Los Angeles Angels fans can breathe a sigh of relief as star center fielder Mike Trout is on track to return from knee surgery by late July. The three-time American League MVP has been dealing with a torn meniscus in his left knee, which has kept him sidelined for a significant portion of the season.

Trout, 32, spoke with reporters at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, and expressed his optimism about his recovery progress. He mentioned that he feels good ramping up his activities and is happy with where he is at in his rehabilitation process. While he did not provide an exact timetable for his return, Trout is confident that he will be back on the field once he passes all necessary tests and is able to run, hit, and throw without any issues.

The recovery process has been slower than expected for Trout, as he has experienced soreness during his rehabilitation. However, he has been able to manage the discomfort by incorporating exercises to strengthen the area around his knee. Trout has been jogging on an anti-gravity treadmill to reduce impact and has started playing catch with no pain.

Despite the setback of the injury, Trout remains positive and focused on getting back to full strength. Angels manager Ron Washington noted that Trout’s legs look strong and he appears to be moving normally, indicating that he is close to returning to action.

Trout was leading the majors with 10 home runs at the time of his injury and was batting .220 with 14 RBIs and six steals in 29 games. The injury was particularly frustrating for Trout, who has faced health issues in recent seasons that have limited his playing time.

Throughout his career, Trout has been a consistent performer, maintaining a career batting average of .299 with 378 home runs, 954 RBIs, and 212 stolen bases in 1,518 games. He has been named an All-Star 11 times, won the AL MVP award three times, and earned numerous Silver Slugger awards.

As Trout continues his recovery and prepares to rejoin the Angels lineup, fans are eagerly anticipating his return to the field. With his talent and leadership, Trout is expected to make a significant impact and help propel the Angels towards success in the remainder of the season.
