Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) is expected to report its quarterly earnings before the opening bell today. Analysts are predicting earnings of $1.08 per share on revenue of $34.58 billion. In after-hours trading, Verizon shares rose 0.2% to $39.65.

United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: UAL) has reported better-than-expected financial results for its fourth quarter. However, the company anticipates a wider-than-expected first-quarter loss. Despite this, United Airlines shares surged 6.1% to $40.81 in the after-hours trading session.
