The latest NBA-Netflix project shows just little creativity

The latest collaboration between Netflix and the NBA is set to bring basketball fans a new series called the NBA Quarterback Show. Following in the footsteps of the NFL Quarterback Show, this basketball version will give viewers an inside look at the lives of five of the NBA’s brightest stars: LeBron James, Jimmy Butler, Jayson Tatum, Domantas Sabonis, and Anthony Edwards.

It’s no surprise that Netflix and the NBA have teamed up for this project, as both Hollywood and sports industries often rely on copying what has been successful in the past. With the NFL Quarterback Show already garnering a large audience, it was only a matter of time before a basketball version was created.

LeBron James’ inclusion in the series should come as no surprise, as he has been the face of the NBA for many years. Given that the project is being produced by LeBron’s production company, along with Barack Obama and Peyton Manning’s, it’s safe to assume that there will be a heavy dose of James propaganda throughout the show. Fans may even place bets on how many “Greatest of All Time” references will be made in the first episode.

While LeBron may be the biggest personality in the series, Jimmy Butler is also expected to steal the show. Known for his intense work ethic and unique personality, Butler’s brand “Big Face Coffee” is sure to make an appearance. Jayson Tatum, despite his more reserved nature, is one of the Association’s best players and will likely receive ample screen time. Fans can expect to see a glimpse into his life on and off the court, especially his relationship with his child.

Domantas Sabonis is somewhat of a wildcard in the group, as not much is known about his personal life outside of his father’s basketball career. Lastly, Anthony Edwards’ inclusion in the series may raise some eyebrows, considering the controversies he has been involved in. However, with his undeniable talent and potential, it will be interesting to see how he is portrayed on the show.

Overall, while the NBA Quarterback Show may be seen as a lack of creativity in Hollywood, it is still expected to be intriguing, informative, and entertaining. Fans will undoubtedly enjoy getting an inside look at the lives of their favorite basketball stars, and the series will likely provide some unique insights into the world of professional basketball.
