Zach Neto’s 4 RBIs carry Angels past Mets

The Los Angeles Angels pulled off a thrilling 5-4 victory over the New York Mets on Saturday night, thanks to a go-ahead three-run homer by shortstop Zach Neto in the seventh inning. The game, which took place at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, was a back-and-forth battle that saw both teams trading blows before the Angels emerged victorious.

The Angels had initially taken a 2-0 lead before the Mets mounted a comeback, highlighted by a grand slam from J.D. Martinez in the top of the seventh inning. However, the Angels responded with a late rally against Mets pitcher Huascar Brazoban, culminating in Neto’s game-winning home run.

Pitcher Matt Moore was credited with the win for the Angels, despite entering the game with the lead. He pitched effectively, allowing only one run in his outing. Ben Joyce came in to close out the game and recorded his first career save, thanks in part to a stellar defensive play by Neto in the ninth inning.

Neto was a standout performer for the Angels, finishing the game with two hits and driving in two runs. Kevin Pillar and Michael Stefanic also contributed offensively for the Angels, while Martinez and Francisco Lindor had strong showings for the Mets.

Both starting pitchers, Jose Soriano for the Angels and David Peterson for the Mets, put in solid performances, only to see their efforts overshadowed by the late-game drama.

The victory was a much-needed one for the Angels, who had been on a three-game losing streak prior to the win. The Mets, on the other hand, had been riding a hot streak with wins in 8 of their last 11 games before falling to the Angels.

Overall, it was a thrilling and closely contested matchup between two talented teams, with the Angels ultimately coming out on top in dramatic fashion. The win will surely provide a boost of confidence for the Angels as they look to build momentum for the rest of the season.
