Sixers sign ‘playoff-tested’ veteran Reggie Jackson

The Philadelphia 76ers made a significant move on Tuesday by signing veteran guard Reggie Jackson to a one-year deal worth $3.3 million. This acquisition adds depth and experience to the Sixers’ backcourt as they look to make a deep playoff run in the upcoming season.

Jackson, a 13-year NBA veteran, brings a wealth of playoff experience and leadership to the team. Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey praised Jackson’s dynamic offensive abilities and highlighted his importance in the team’s quest for success.

The 34-year-old guard recently agreed to a contract buyout with the Charlotte Hornets before signing with the Sixers. Last season, Jackson averaged 10.2 points and 3.8 assists while shooting nearly 36% from beyond the arc in all 82 games for the Denver Nuggets.

A former NBA champion with the Nuggets in 2022-23, Jackson has had a solid career with stints at the Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, and Nuggets. Throughout his career, he has averaged 12.6 points, 4.2 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in over 850 games.

Selected as the 24th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Thunder, Jackson has proven himself as a reliable and versatile player in the league. His addition to the Sixers roster adds another scoring threat and playmaking ability to an already talented team.

Overall, the signing of Reggie Jackson is a positive move for the Philadelphia 76ers as they look to build a competitive roster for the upcoming season. With his experience and skill set, Jackson is poised to make a valuable contribution to the team’s success on the court.
