ESL Reveals Invited Teams for IEM Rio 2024
ESL has recently announced the 11 teams that have received direct invitations to compete in IEM Rio 2024. This prestigious event is set to kick off on October 7th with a full field of 16 teams battling it out for glory and a share of the $250,000 prize pool. The final showdown will take place at the Farmasi Arena from October 11th to 13th, where the top six teams will compete live in front of an audience.
The teams that have received direct invites to IEM Rio 2024 include Astralis, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, Team Vitality, FURIA, 9z Globant, Complexity, The MongolZ, and Virtus.pro. These teams have been selected based on their performance and rankings in the ESL World Ranking Global.
In addition to the invited teams, there are five spots up for grabs through the Regional Open and Closed Qualifiers. These qualifiers have already begun and will run through September 1st, with teams from Europe, North America, South America, and Asia competing for a chance to secure their spot in IEM Rio 2024.
The European qualifiers consist of two Open Qualifiers on August 14-15 and August 18-19, followed by a Closed Qualifier on August 26-28. The winners and runner-ups of the European qualifiers will earn their spot in IEM Rio 2024. Similar qualifiers are being held in North America, South America, and Asia, with the winners from each region securing their place in the tournament.
In addition to IEM Rio 2024, ESL also revealed the 14 teams that have received invites to the ESL Impact League Season 6, with the finals scheduled to take place from November 22nd to 24th at DreamHack Stockholm in Sweden. Teams such as Astralis W, Atrix Esports, BIG EQUIPA, and FlyQuest Red are among those invited to compete in this prestigious event.
