Rose’s 4,000th hit came against the Philadelphia Phillies, adding a touch of irony to the achievement.
But Rose was not content with just reaching 4,000 hits. He went on to surpass Ty Cobb’s record and set a new all-time career hits record with an astounding 4,256 hits. This record still stands today and solidifies Rose’s place as one of the greatest hitters in baseball history.
